Age-friendly Seniors Housing Grant Programme | Canada

The County of Simcoe, Canada, launched the “Age-friendly Seniors Housing Grant Programme” to provide allowance to eligible applicants of developers and home-owners to incorporate age-friendly elements into new housing developments or existing housing renovations, for example, installing barrier-free facilities to make elderly occupants easy to move in the housing.

 

Through this programme together with other existing age-friendly measures, the county officials hoped to improve the living conditions of elderly people, and build the County of Simcoe a better place for seniors to live in.

Tripartite Guidelines for re-employment of older employees | Singapore

In 2017, Singapore extended the statutory retirement age from 65 to 67, and introduced the “Tripartite Guidelines” setting out guidelines for re-employment of retired employees which covered four principles:

 

  1. Employers and employees to plan and prepare for re-employment of retired employees, such as identifying eligible employees, job arrangements for re-employment, etc;
  2. Formulate re-employment contract, including information such as position offered, employment period, wages and medical benefits, termination notice, etc.;
  3. Recognise the contributions of re-employed employees;
  4. Provide assistance to eligible but not re-employed employees, such as provision of trainings.
